Detailed Lake Turkana Flying Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Lodwar – Eliye Springs Beach

Depart Nairobi on your scheduled flight to Lodwar, with a stopover en route. Arrival in Lodwar is expected in the morning, allowing sufficient time for your ground transfer to Eliye Springs Beach.

The approximately 50-kilometre transfer introduces you to the striking landscape of Turkana, characterized by dry riverbeds, seasonal laggas, sand dunes and expansive semi-desert scenery.

Given the warm climate, travelers are encouraged to stay well hydrated and carry lightweight, breathable clothing, sunglasses, a hat and high-SPF sunscreen.

On arrival at Eliye Springs, check in and settle into your lakeside accommodation.

Depending on weather and lake conditions, an optional boat excursion to Central Island National Park may be arranged. Central Island is a volcanic island in Lake Turkana and forms part of the Kenya Wildlife Service-managed national park system. Its volcanic landscape includes several craters and crater lakes and offers opportunities for bird watching and wildlife observation.

Day 4: Eliye Springs – Leisure – Lodwar

Later in the day, your representative will transfer you back to Lodwar Town.

Check into your central Lodwar accommodation for the night in preparation for your morning flight to Nairobi.

Accommodation will be at Acacia Residence Cottages, Stegra Hotel or a comparable property, subject to availability.
