DAY 2: NAIROBI – MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

From the City to the African Savannah

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The journey takes you through the spectacular Great Rift Valley, one of Kenya's most dramatic landscapes, before continuing towards Narok and the Mara ecosystem.

Allow approximately 4–5 hours by road depending on road conditions and stops.

Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch and check-in.

After some time to relax, your safari begins.

Set out on your first afternoon game drive, entering the Mara in search of wildlife as the savannah comes alive in the softer afternoon light.

The Maasai Mara is renowned for its exceptional wildlife viewing, including opportunities to encounter the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino – alongside cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and hundreds of bird species.

Wake early for breakfast before setting out on an immersive full-day Maasai Mara game drive.

The early morning is one of the most rewarding times to explore the reserve. The light is spectacular, temperatures are cooler and many predators are active.

With a packed picnic lunch, spend the day exploring different sections of the Mara in search of wildlife.

Your experienced safari guide will read tracks, interpret animal behaviour and adapt the day's route according to recent sightings and wildlife movements.

DAY 5: MAASAI MARA – LAKE NAIVASHA

From Savannah to the Great Rift Valley

Enjoy breakfast before departing the Maasai Mara for Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya's most beautiful freshwater lakes.

The journey takes approximately 3–4 hours depending on road conditions and stops.

Travel through the spectacular landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, with opportunities for scenic stops and photography.

Arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, check in and enjoy lunch.

Spend the afternoon relaxing within the resort's expansive grounds or choose one of our optional lake experiences.

OPTIONAL LAKE NAIVASHA EXPERIENCE

Take a private or shared boat safari on Lake Naivasha, looking for hippos, fish eagles and other waterbirds while enjoying panoramic views across the lake.

For an active alternative, explore nearby Hell's Gate National Park, where selected areas can be explored on foot or by bicycle, subject to conditions and park regulations.

DAY 6: MOUNT LONGONOT GUIDED HIKING EXPERIENCE

Conquer a Kenyan Volcano

After an early breakfast, depart for Mount Longonot National Park.

Rising dramatically from the Great Rift Valley floor, Mount Longonot is an extinct stratovolcano characterized by rugged ridges and valleys.

Begin your guided ascent with an experienced hiking guide.

The main trail climbs steadily towards the crater rim. Fit and suitably prepared hikers can continue around the crater rim for a more demanding and rewarding experience.

Allow approximately 4–6 hours, depending on fitness, pace, weather conditions and whether the crater rim circuit is undertaken.

At the summit, enjoy panoramic views across the Rift Valley and the surrounding landscape.

This is more than a hike.

It is an opportunity to experience Kenya from a completely different perspective – away from the safari vehicle and immersed in the landscape itself.

A packed lunch and drinking water will be provided.

After completing the hike, return to Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort for a well-earned evening of relaxation.

DAY 7: LAKE NAIVASHA – NAIROBI – DEPARTURE

Depart Naivasha at approximately 11:00 AM for Nairobi.

The journey back to Nairobi takes approximately 1.5–2 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

Continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
